The Warband stories take place in World of Warcraft, specifically during the Worldsoul Saga that began with The War Within expansion (2024). Understanding this world adds depth to the characters’ journeys, but you don’t need to play WoW to enjoy these stories—they’re character-driven first, game-inspired second.
Current Timeline: The War Within#
The world stands at a crossroads. After decades of conflict between the Alliance and Horde, the factions have formed an uneasy peace to face greater threats. The recent war against the Jailer left scars across reality itself. Now, new dangers emerge from beneath Azeroth’s surface as ancient secrets awaken.

The Night Elves#
Reyneese is a Night Elf Priest, and understanding her people adds context to her 2,000-year journey:
- Night Elves are an ancient race, once immortal, who lost their immortality defending the World Tree
- They’ve endured devastating losses: the Burning of Teldrassil destroyed their home and killed thousands
- They’re rebuilding in new lands, learning to balance tradition with adaptation
- Night Elf culture values nature, balance, and honoring the past while protecting the future
This history shapes Reyneese’s perspective—she’s seen empires fall, watched her people lose everything, and learned that family isn’t about blood or immortality. It’s about who you choose to stand beside when everything burns.
Geography & Home#
The Warband’s adventures span Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, the two main continents of Azeroth. They’ve made their base in various locations, from the mystical forests of Teldrassil (before its fall) to the bustling cities of Stormwind and the wild beauty of Ohn’ahran Plains.
Fun Fact: In WoW, players can now share resources, mounts, and achievements across all characters on their account through the Warband system—a perfect parallel to our found family sharing everything as they adventure together!
